Baking with Nana

When I first saw this stamp it was a "must have" because it reminded me my granddaughter in Texas. She'll soon be 11 and, oh how I miss getting grandma time with her, and doing all the fun things grandma's do with granddaughter's. Of course, you can do the same with grandson's, which I did when they were small, but now they are grown men and no longer want to spend time cooking in the kitchen with gma.

The stamp is from a Christmas Collection set by Elizabeth Bell created exclusively for  Bells 'n Whistles Stamps

Again, let me wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and A Safe and Happy New Year!  Thanks so very much for stopping by and if you have time to leave a note that will be much appreciated.  I'll be back with more next year, if not sooner.  Ohhhhhhhh, that sounds like such a long time away, how about next week.

Mo's Bismark at Christmas

Isn't Bismark just the cutest! He reminds me of my schnauzer Sparkey, except for the floppy ears. This is my first card with a digi image to post and I just fell in love with him.  Got him at Mo's Digital Pencil  Shop. Whipped him up the other night to give to his groomer today.  She's not just any groomer, she bathes him every week and full grooms him every 2 weeks. He likes going to see her as much as he likes staying home because she spoils him as much as I do. Here is another picture and maybe you can see the silver embossing on the tree and the clear crystals. The snowflakes were done using MS Snowflake punch and then covered with Stardust Stickles.  Paper is from my stash and the corner embellies are a quarter of the large round Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle.

Oops! No silver embossing but you can see the crystals used on the tree and  his scarf......lol

And, to finish off this post, here's a picture of my "little man" Sparkey - Love those blue eyes!

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you have time to leave me a short note that will be greatly appreciated as I so love to read your comments.  I'll have one more post for you after this but I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

Charlotte & Reindeer

Oops! I've sure missed getting my cards in on time for several challenges but I get did get some of them done and want to share with you all.  This stamp by Whiff of Joy, Charlotte Riding Reindeer is just the cutest.  I made it for the November 15th challenge over at Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges as it was to include snowflakes and lots of glitter.  I just loved the paper from my stash and thought it would work really good for snowflakes. Then what was I going to do?  Well, what else but copic up Charlotte and Reindeer, then cut them out and popped them on the snowy background.  The snowflakes are punched from MS snowflake punch and glitzed up with Stardust Stickles. They come pretty close to matching the snowflakes on the paper. Those Stardust Stickles really make the flakes shine.  Hope this picture gives you a better view of the glitz.  Have no idea why that extra line is in there......

Thanks so much for stopping by. As always, your comments are greatly appreciated.  Hope to see  you again soon.

Whiff of Joy Challenge #56

Here is my card for the WOJ Challenge #56. I've used similar paper from My Mind's Eye Holiday Collection as my last card post.  In all honesty, these are not my favorite colors but I'm really liking the papers and the way they work together.
Somewhere in the mess of me decorating the mounds today in my craft room I lost my list of what I used for this card and I apologize for that.  I need to be more organized and promise to make that my ONLY New Year resolution..........

Now I remember a few things........LOL
Paper:  My Mind's Eye Holiday Glitter Book
Creative Memories Silver Metallic
Image & Sentiment:  Wiff of Joy illustrated by Elizabeth Bell
MS Icicle border punch & Snowflake punch
Aqua Stickles, Silver Smooch, Detail Silver Emobssing Power, & Mint Shimmerz
Button from stash
Copics:  I'd put them away too soon and list MIA, Sorry!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. As always, your comments are much appreciated.

Happy Tuesday to everyone!  That all nighter 2 nights in a row almost did me in but I'm back to normal (whatever that is).  Here is my card for the MoJo Challenge Week #113.

I know, I need a lesson in photography so maybe when I get Photoshop installed and mastered (ha!) MAYBE my pics will turn out better.  Below is kinda a side view, and just maybe, you will be able to see the sparkle and glitter of the papers.  I sure hope so because they are very beautiful.

Here is a pic of the Copics that were  used.

Friday Sketchers #78 Challenge

The signature is there this time. It's been so long since I used PowerPoint that I forgot to group the picture and the signature block......DUH!  It's only 5:56 am here and I haven't been to bed yet....  Will I pay dearly later in the day for this all nighter......LOL

I really struggled with this challenge and I have no clue why, but I finally got it done.  The paper is from DCWV and the ribbon is from my stash as are the Prima poinsettias. The image is from Whiff of Joy and the first time I've used it, but as always, I love Elizabeth Bell's stamps and the winner of this challenge gets a complete set of the Elizabeth Bell Special Edition Ornament Collection sponsored by SCADC.  If  you want to play, hop on over to Friday Sketchers and participate in the challenge.  I'm just hoping that "Mr. Random" picks my number......Oh please, please, please, Mr. R!

Here is a picture of the copics I used.  Can't  imagine why I have to use so many copics to color one small image but maybe it's because I need lessons in coloring........LOL

Thanks for stopping by to visit. Please leave me a comment so I can come visit you.  Have a fantatic weekend!

MoJo Monday Week 112

We all survived Friday the 13th without any bad luck and I hope the day was as good for you all.  Here is my take on the Week 112 Challenge. I just got to have all the glitz and glitter I can get on everything and usually tend to overdo, but I love the serenity of this paper and the colors.

Oops! I added a signature box to the picture in PowerPoint but for some reasoon it didn't get inlcuded in this one so I'll try it again on my next card and hope I can figure out what I did wrong.

The card is 5.5" x 7.75" and a size that I don't often do. The silver mat paper is from Creative Memories, the patterened paper is new and from Peppermint exclusive to JoAnn's. I used Spellbinders Large Octagon and Large Scalloped Octagon Nestabilities.  The snowflakes were punched using MS snowflake punch and then covered with stickles.  There are two snowflakes to each one with a pop dot in between to give them a 3D effect.  The stamp is from JustRite's new Merry Christmas set and heat embossed with Rangers Detail Silver. I really like using my enveloper to make the envelopes for my cards because I can make them any size I want and give them enough depth so that the embellishments don't get crushed

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by. Please leave me a comment so I can hop over to visit your blog.

Since I did her with red hair think I'll hop on over and enter this card in the Copic Creations Challenge #15. Those 5 hours don't look so bad after all now.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  Have a safe Friday the 13th.  I'm hybernating in my craft room ALL day tomorrow.........

Table Tents & Wedding Program

Finally, the 300 programs and the table tents are complete for the wedding Saturday.  We are all so excited and I wanted to share with you what I've been working on for the past few days.  This is going to be a VERY short post because the next 3 days are whirlwind days.........LOL

The paper is from The PaperTemptress and coordinates with the invitations we did awhile back.  We used Copper, Sparking Merlot and vellum.  This paper is absolutely wonderful to work with.  I hope you can see the beautiful effects of the Opal shimmer paper with the text.  It is so elegant!
Table tents for wedding party table & family tables.

Next are pictures of the 300 programs we finished.  Same paper and colors, and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby that is almost a perfect match for the copper paper.  I've loved doing the invitations, programs, and table tents for them and they seem to very pleased.  Sorry about the fingers but just no way to keep them out of the pictures.

Thanks so much for stopping by. As always, your comments are very much appreciated.  I'll be back soon with more pictures from the rehersal and dinner tomorrow night then from the wedding Saturday evening.  Doubt you can tell what a proud grandma this is here............

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's Sketch 38

This is my first sketch challenge for 2S4Y and I really enjoyed participating. In fact, it was the first one I've done this week, I just got my posts out of order....LOL  Anyway, I'm having a blast being back in my craft room and I've missed all of you so much and really missed getting to blog hop. Please leave me a comment and I'll pop on over to your blog to see what I've missed and what's new.

It was so much fun using all my of new stuff.  This paper from Basic Gray Wassill collection is fantastic. Had a chance to stop in Archiver's when taking my baby to the vet in KC and was so glad to see they had it.  I've seen it on line, but not for purchase, so if anyone knows of an online store that's carrying the paper packs, please let me know.

Another new stamp from JustRite Christmas Treasure Set.  I'm loving these stamps!  The snowflakes were punched with MS Snowflake Punch out of the coordinating paper because I couldn't find anything else I had that I thought fit in that rectangle.  The poinsettias and leaves are from Prima and the red brads are from my stash. I can't find my notes to let you know what copics I used and I apologize for that but I do remember that I used Elmer's Glue All and Crystals on the top of the bird house.

Thanks for stopping by and if you do know where I can get the Basic Gray Wassill pack, please let me know.

Hope your week has been a good one. I know mine has and I am so thankful to be back!!!

MoJo Monday Challenge Week 110

Hi Everyone and thank you so very much for hanging in there while I had to be gone for awhile.  I'm so glad to be back in my craft room doing what I love doing.  To begin with I couldn't find a thing I wanted and didn't even know where to start.......lol  So the first challenge of the week for me was Monday MoJo. I love their sketches and wanted to start the week with Monday.

The papers that I used were from: K&C Winter Wonderland Collection, Metallic Gold from Creative Memories, and Bazzill. Today while at Hobby Lobby I noticed several small items I thought would work great for charms (since I can never find charms in any of our retail chains here) and the angel is from A Tree for Me.  Finally got to use my new stamps from JustRite and I love them. They are so easy to use and stamp really clean.  I  used clear embossing ink and Ranger's Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. Applied heat from the back side of the paper this time because I'm always afraid I'm going to scorch it and it worked great for me (No scorching).  Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Large Circles were used.  I have no idea where those little stars came from, but I think they were left over from one of my Cricket projects last year.

Off to do a few more posts.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Whiff of Joy Challenge #49 & Spoon Full of Sugar

I loved doing this challenge, and for once, I really like the way it turned out.  Willow with Lantern was one of the first WOJ stamps I purchased and I have always loved her.  Really got out of my comfort zone on this one by creating two of the pattern papers myself.  The solid red was embossed using one of Spellbinder's dies and then I added Xmas Red Stickles on the embossing.  The black was stamped with glue using one of my scroll stamps and I have NO idea where I got the stamp (sorry!) then red glitter was added so the scrolls would stand out.  On the 5 brads I again used Xmas Red Stickles.  The poinsettias and leaves are from my stash.

Willow was colored using the following copics:

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 70

Trying to get this all put together when your mojo is not working makes for some strange endings.......LOL It was fun putting all these layers together and trying to make them work together........challenging to say!

The card size is 5.5" x 5.5".  Paper used was from the Holiday Cheer paper pack from 2007. The image is Snickerdoodle Gift Elf from Peachy Keen Stamps and the sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.  The snowflakes were made using MS Snowflake punch with Stardust Stickles added. Buttons and ribbons were from stash. Gold Stickles were used for the ribbon and bow on the packages.  I cut out paper from the background to use for the packages and glued to the elf after copying.

Copics were used to color Snickerdoodle and below is a picture of what I used.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Creative Inspirations Challenge #17

This post Edited: To correct link to website

It's been a year since I've used my Peachy Keen stamps but they are still some of my favorites.  Pulled out Frozen Stiff Jr. for this challenge and think he so cute.  Can't wait to see what they have coming out this year for the holidays.

Paper is from the Hobby House, which  you've seen me use before and I just adore this pattern in the silver and the red and green.  Copics R35, 37, 39 and BV11, 13 & 17 were the colors I used on Frozen along with E57 for the branches for his arms then added Polar White Flower Soft to them for the snow.  The poinsettias, ribbon, and brads are from my stash.  The sentiment is heat embossed in silver with pop dots added to make it stand out.

This challenge was a really fun one to do as it made me dig out my older stamps and put them to use again.

Have a wonderful weekend.  I appreciate you stopping by and hope to see you again soon.

MoJo Monday Week 105 Challenge

Don't you just love Dexter unwrapping this package from Motivet?  I think he is so cute!  Copics were used for the coloring and guess what, I forgot to write them down or take a picture of which ones I used...Sorry!
Paper is from stash from last year and I have NO idea where it came from.  Stickles were used for the fur on his hat.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

SophistiCat Challenge #3

What a great challenge this was! The hardest part was having to find paper that didn't need to be stamped. Thanks to Karen for challenging my mind.

The paper on the card are from DCWV Photo Stack, Bazilla, and K&C DP.  Flowers are by Prima and brads are from my stash, as is the ribbon. The sentiment was done on the computer. I think this is probably the first birthday card I have done.........LOL  I know it's the first card I have completed with NO stamping........

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Sketch and Challenge #19 Card

I'm excited!  Think this time I got the card done before the challenge ends....LOL

This is one of the cutest Motivet stamps I received not too long ago.  The background paper is from K&C Winter Wonderland pack and I just love ALL the papers in it.  First time I've used these and I think they go together really well.  Original intent was to do a Christmas card but I got side tracked thinking she looked so lonely and was missing her sweetie.........couldn't find a sentiment that said "Missing You!"  Guess I forgot about using the trusty ole pc.  Coloring was done with those fantastic Copics. Oh, think I would die for a certification class close by and to be able to learn all the techniques of how to use them.  Spellbinders Large Labels dies were used to cut and emboss the image. All the matting is Bazilla Tea Green just purchased yesterday.

Here is another angle of the card and I hope you can see it clearly.  Guess my camera has started doing it's own thing again and I apologize for the fuzziness.

That's all from me for now.  Have a wonderful evening where ever you are and please stop by again soon.

Sweet Shop Saturday Challenge SSS22

For some reason, I'm really into Christmas cards right now. Maybe it's because the holidays are my favorite time of the year. Maybe it's because my husband has terminal cancer and was just diagnosed this week with Alzheimers, but whatever the reason, it gives me something beautiful and positive to focus on. I flipped it below hoping you could see the beautiful background paper and the foil scrolls embedded in the paper.  I love the black and red combo but I'm not sure about the tan yet.......LOL

This card is for the challenge this week over at The Sweet Shop .  I love the sketch and it didn't take too much time at all to complete.  Here are a list of the items I used to create the card.  I hope you enjoy!

Paper: K&C Winter Wonderland Pack, tan & black are from my stash, the ornaments were stamped on Cryogen paper from the Papertempress; Spellbinders Large octagon Scalloped, Large Octagon, and Classic Scalloped Rectangle small; sentiment is from House Mouse; Offray red ribbon; Swarovski red crystals were used on the ornaments with glass red gems used on the rest of the card; Copic Lipstick (this is a deeper red than the "red") and Pitch Black Spica Pens were from Merriartist; poinsettias were from my stash.

TIP:  I'm sure most of you are probably aware of this but I always have to find things out the hard way. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment then ran it through the Cuttlebug.  Guess what, the embossing came off and I had to redo it, so I cut the die first, stamped the sentiment, and then heat embossed.

Please leave me a comment and any tips you would like to share.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see  you again soon.

WOJ Challenge #48 & A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

Oh wow! This was really hard for me even as much as I like layering. I'm sure they are NOT to scale of the challenge but it's as close as I could get.  In all honesty, I really did enjoy this challenge.  But then, I love anything WOJ!  Thanks Heather for this great challenge.

Oops, I put the copics away too late last night and forgot to take a picture for you.  The flowers are prima flowers with bronze brads.  These were the biggest brads I had on hand and too small for the larger flower but I really wanted to get this submitted before I forgot.......lol  The aging process is soooooooo kind!

A shopping on line I went last night to find prima flower centers and ending up finding up way too much other stuff I "just had" to have.  This is really an addictive hobby but I love it and the fact you can shop without leaving the house.

Enough gab from me today plus I need to get working on another challenge, especially since the Chief's lost and football is over for me till next Sunday.
Have a wonderful week and I'll be back soon.

Oops! A missed Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

Missed getting this card posted in time to make the challenge deadline but wanted to share with you all since I really like the way this sketch turned out.

Below are the copics I used to color the WOJ image from the fall kit. The paper is from my stash and I have no idea where I got it but I really liked those colors. The sentiment is also from Whiff of Joy fall kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you stop back by again soon. All comments are greatly appreciated.

WOJ Challenge #47 Update

Sorry I didn't get the post completed earlier, but as I said, it was a ZOO around here today. Would have been an ideal day to be working with my WOJ Animal stamps that have not been inked yet.........LOL

I tried something new by taking a piece of 12 x 12 paper (I just loved the colors in this paper and the glitz), scoring and folding it to make the 6 x 6 card. This kept it from becoming soooooo heavy by the time it was ready to mail and cut down on the time it took to do the inside of the card. Messed up my copic coloring on the inside image and decided to salvage it by just cutting it out with a round Spellbinders die, embossed and matted. The right inside note area was diecut, again using Spellbinders. One thing I just noticed is that I forgot to put leaves around the flowers.........DUH

Stopped in Hobby Lobby today with my 40% off coupon and got another couple of Nesties I just couldn't pass up. While there I noticed that they had their dwarf flower bushes on sale half price so I picked up a bunch of roses of each available color. Tonight I popped the roses off (various sizes on one bush) and cut the leaves off to start using on my cards. I'm so excited because you can add Shimmerz, stickles, dew drops or anything to them without discoloring them.

I've got to try and get a couple more cards done for some challenges I really want to try and get in before the deadline.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come again soon.
