Digi Doodle Shop Sponsors For Fun Challenge - Fall Ball

This weeks winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop.

Can you believe it's Wednesday and in just 2 more days it will be the 1st of October? Well, I don't even want to think about how fast winter is approaching as our weather here is just fantastic right now, low 70's with lots a sunshine, cool brisk nights and no humidity - I'm lovin it!!

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop and they have provided some fantastic images for us to share with you.  Be sure you hop on over to For Fun to see the wonderful inspiration provided by the DT.  The challenge is titled "Fall Ball" (I think) and when you create your project you are to dream of "FALL" but we don't want you to use a halloween theme yet, that comes later in the month of October.

On this card I've used 2 digi's from Digi Doodle Shop, one is the corn stack and the other is pumpkin bunches. Both images were cut out and popped up on the DP once colored.  The only embellishments I used are the 4 orange brads in the corners.  Easy peasy except for all the detailed cutting.  Now if I could just learn how to convert JPG images to semi-transparent PNG images I'd be in 7th heaven, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it in Corel PhotoShop.
Haven't learned how to use the program yet either.......lol

Here is what I've used to make the card:

  • Debbie Mumm Harvest & Holiday DP

  • Copics

  • Flower Soft

  • Brads from stash

  • Digi Doodle Shop images corn stack and pumpkin bunches
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Trick or Treat - Something Sweet

Super fun challenge this week at TMIA-PCC from Patti Painter.  The picture above on the right is the inspiration for the colors on your card and the challenge is to use AAI from PCC with a Halloween or Fall Theme.  Think I got all the colors or variations of the colors included, and of course, I had to have purple somewhere, especially for a Halloween card....

One of Nina's newest digi's this month, Trick or Treat - Something Sweet and is available at the PCC store.  The design team this week will be showcasing all of the new fall images so I hope you'll be popping over to see the new cuties available and the fantastic cards created just for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  Don't forget to pick up your freebie on the challenge blog  if you don't have one already so you can join us this week.

Vintage Christmas Carolers

The challenge this week at For Fun is to create a card or layout to look like it came from the 1940's. This may go a little futher back than the 40's but I just loved these carolers from the Digi Doodle Shop.  I'm so far behind on getting any Christmas cards completed that my main focus on challenges for awhile is to use the Christmas/Holiday theme for as many as possible.   I'm really pleased with the way this one turned out and I so hope you like it.  Camera is acting up again so sorry it's a little blurred. Guess I'm gonna have to break down and get a new one.....ggggggrrrrrrrr

I'm also entering this card for Truly Scrumptious Challenges (sketch); Moving Along with the Times (Christmas Card); and Christmas Cards All Year Round at Paper Craft Planet.

The following items were used to create this card:
  • Memory Box Mistletoe and Bazzill DP
  • "Vintage" Cuttlebug Folder
  • Wild Orchid Crafts Mulberry and Poinsettia Flowers
  • Copics & Vintage Photo Distress Ink
  • Christmas Red and Green Stickles
  • Vanilla Shimmerz
  • Sizzors for Distressing paper edges
  • Polar White Flower Soft
  • Red ribbon from stash
  • A Christmas Carol digi stamp from the Digi Doodle Shop
This is a great challenge this week at For Fun so I sure hope I see your entry in the challenge this week.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Glitter-Glitter Everywhere

What a fun challenge this week at For Fun. Ya all know how much I love glitz and bling and this challenge sure gave me the chance to use it all....  Be sure you hop on over to For Fun to see all the lovely designs by the team this week.  The only requirement to play is that you use lots of glitter so I'm hoping to see your wonderful creation posted to Mr. Linky at For Fun.

The image and sentiment are from Lili of The Valley Set 4 Merry Christmas A5 Sheet and the image is colored with copics.  I also used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the background after embossing with Victoria embossing folder and cutting out a shaped card with a Spellbinders Die.  I owe a big "Thanks" to Eulanda and  Debbie for the shaped card tutorial. I've been wanting to do one of these for a long time but just never tried cause I usually like larger cards than this one.  DP on bottom portion of card is from Once Upon A Time paper pack.  Stickles used were Xmas Red, Dark Blue, Green and Gold. Polar White Flower Soft was used for the fur on the hat.

Also entered this card in Glitterbabes Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Missed Whoopsi Daisy Challenge

Isn't this just the sweetest image!  Thanks to Beecy for letting me know about this new digi website (Whoopsi Daisy) and challenge blog.  Didn't get it finished in time to enter the challenge for August but I definitely plan on playing this month (Pile on the Flowers) so you'll be seeing another one of these cute Christmas images soon.

The challenge for August was a color challenge to use Blue and Green, so I chose this great digi paper package from Cool Scraps Digital, cut out the 3 presents from the png elements file, colored image with Copics and added Polar White Flower Soft to the bottom of her coat, added the green bow and a snow flake charm from my stash.  A really easy and fun card to make!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I sure hope to see you again soon.

Nana Vic Tweet Street

Vickie's at Nana Vick's has done it again! She adds so much detail into her images and I think they are pretty unique and so much fun to create with.  If you haven't tried working with her digi's yet it would sure be nice if you'd just pop in to tell her hi and let her know she's doing a great job of creating for us crafters.  With a full-time job and family she keeps busy and doesn't publish her drawings that often but when she does they are really special.

Tweet Street was colored with copics and the DP is again from Cool Scraps Digital. I added Spanish Moss to the openings in the birdhouses and a small spider with google eyes to complete the card.

That's it from me for the day. Time to get supper for hubby.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I sure hope to see you again soon.

MoJo Monday - Sketch & Tag

Have pretty much stayed glued to the craftroom for the past couple of days just playing and taking the time to join in a couple of challenges I haven't participated in for quite awhile.  Can you believe it, I got out my stamps and actually stamped something for a change.  No digi papers, stamps, or sentiments this time.  I've shocked myself......LOL

This card is for the challenge over at MoJo Monday. I've always like their sketches and since I need to get busy making some Christmas cards thought this would be a good challenge to start with. The image is from the JustRite Stamp Christmas Treasures.  DP is new from Memory Box Mistletoe. Ribbon from stash. Copics were used for coloring and the tag is made from miscellaneous stamps I had in a drawer then heat embossed with Ultra Fine Silver embossing powder.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  I always love reading your comments so if you have time, please leave me a note.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Scrapbook Page Challenge at For Fun & One Lovely Blog Award

What a great challenge this week at For Fun! We are to create a scrapbook page of something we did this summer (now I know you all had to do something) not saying "Goodbye to Summer" but "Hello Fall".  The most recent activity in our lives this summer was the visit of our granddaughter Drue and her mother Brooke. We took lots of pictures, but probably like most of you, I printed them off to help Drue make a scrapbook to take home and the extras I put in a box to scrap later.  Well, I really haven't been into scrapbooking lately so I decided to try making a digital scrapbook page and I love the way it turned out.  At least I can read my journal box....cause my handwriting sure leaves a lot to be desired anymore...LOL
Not sure this says "Hello Fall" but at least the colors are fall.

All of the digi papers, frames, etc., are from Cool Scraps Digital and many are freebies. I've combined so many elements on this page from so many different designers that it's impossible to name them all, but if you are interested in digital scrapbooking or just digital papers, be sure you head over to Cool Scraps to see the beautiful papers and elements.

I sure hope you have the time to play along with us this week.  We'd love to see one of your scrapbook pages, whether it be handmade or digitally created.  Don't forget to hop on over to the For Fun Challenge Blog to see what great inspiration the design team have created for you.
Be sure to link your project to Mr. Linky at For Fun

A big thanks to Marie for this beautiful image for One Lovely Blog Award. It comes with a couple of requests though - you have to thank the person who gave it to you AND you have to list 3 things you like about yourself....
1) I'm independent but I'm also co-dependent (figure this one out)  LOL
2) Always too serious and conservative but I love getting out of my shell and in my "FUN" mode
3) I love being a wife, mother, grandmother - AND RETIREMENT
You also have to pass it on to 7 people so I'm passing this on to my most faithful and wonderful followers who never fail to leave me fantastic comments and inspire me to keep creating. If I've failed to mention your name I apologize, so grab this award, follow the instructions and please add it to your blog.
Lisa, Amelia, Mandy, Nightowl, Selma, Stepf, Marla

That's it from me tonight folks.  Hope you are having a fantastic week and the weather is beautiful where you are.  If you have the time to leave me a quick comment it will be more than appreciated.  I'd love to pop over to your blog and see what's new with you.
