Black/White and a Touch of Red for Christmas

First I'd like to welcome my new followers Chris and Samantha.  So glad to have you and will be by to visit you both soon.

Christmas is only a little over a week away and I honestly have to say I am no way ready.  My cards aren't done, and as for shopping, oh my, I've only bought two presents except for my youngest son and his wife and that's because they were here and we went shopping together.......  How did I get so far behind this year?  I know this next week I have to get tons of stuff done so I may not be around too much till after Christmas.

Guess you all can tell I've fallen in love with the My Besties collection.  Here is img063.  I think she is so elegant.  I've colored her with Copics and added White Velvet Flock for the fur on her coat, muff, and hat.  The lamp post is a B130 die by Cheery Lynn and this new Joy die "Dance to the Music" has just recently been released. I've added Gunmetal Stickles to the note, isn't it gorgeous!  The sentiment is from LOTV and the snowflakes are an MS punch with Stardust Stickles added.  The beautiful square doily is from my friend and teammate Judy in the UK.  The DP is "Tis the Season by Cassandra Cooper".

Here is a quick pic of the inside of the card using part of the Dance to the Music die. EDITED TO ADD PICTURE

Thank You Note

Why is it we never have a "thank you note" on hand when we need one???  At least, I NEVER seem to have one that fits the occasion and it takes me forever to get it done.  Have been busy this week making some of these to send to the people that sent me flowers, etc., while I was in the hospital.  Told ya, it takes me forever.....

I just love these little Besties with the big eyes.  This image is Hope and can be found HERE.  She is colored with Copics, the flowers are a combination of Magnolia and WOC, the butterfly is a Joy die and distressed with Victorian Velvet and the lace is from LLC.  Oops almost forgot to add the Stardust Stickles to give it that little extra oomp.

Gifts from The Twins & Welcome New Followers

To my new followers, Kaija, Susan, Vicki, Alyce, Delphine, Stitch & Greet, Carol, and Aletha, so glad to have you here and hope you will find a little inspired by what you see and will visit often.  Welcome!

Here are two gorgeous get-well and thinking of you cards from my favorite blogging twins, Eulanda and Simone. One week I got the lavender (my favorite color) from Simone and the next week, pink from Eulanda for breast cancer awareness.  Since they are twins they decided to use the same image.  I feel so honored to have received these gorgeous cards that I just had to share them with you. They both are on numerous design teams and what fantastic inspiration they have to share.  I hope you will stop by their blogs to see their other amazing works of art.

My Besties Halloween Post It Easel Card

Here is an early wish for you all for a HAPPY HAUNTING HALLOWEEN.  I've had this digi colored for awhile and thought I'd best be doing something with her before the spooky day passes.  I am totally in love with the Sherri Baldy My Besties collection.  The whimsical, big eyed images call me on a daily basis to check in and see what's new.  I've managed to collect quite a few of these adorable images and plan to get them all colored up for my Christmas cards, which is going to consist of most of my future post for awhile.  I'm getting my need and urge to craft back now that I am feeling better.  Little out of my element here as I used more stickers than I normally do, but I think it still turned out cute.

I've used the "Sticky Note" tutorial  by Eulanda Silvey at Cards, Cards, and More Cards.  I love this style and it's so easy to make.  If you don't have the tutorial you can get it HERE.

October Pink at Live & Love Crafts

I'm so excited to have finished this little thank you sticky note card that I'm jumping with joy tonight.. In honor of breast cancer awareness this month I have chosen this Saturated Canary Digi, Whispy 1, and colored her with Copics.  It's my first SC image and I just love her and those big eyes.  I've followed the "Sticky Note Tutorial" by Eulanda Silvey at Cards and More Cards.  Thanks so very much Eulanda for this cute and easy tutorial.  If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Here is a closer look at the top of the easel box. The flowers are a combination of WOC,  Kort & Gort, Magnolia berries and leaf dies along with MS Leaf Die.  The Paper Doily is a die from Joy 6003/1002.  as is the beautiful butterfly.  I love the way it turned out.  I've also used Memory box Tiffany Frame and Cherise Label dies.  The sentiment is from LOTV and the lace from Live & Love Crafts.  This beautiful Maja paper is also from LLC.  Oh how I love the Maja DP.....  The pearls are from my stash and you all know how much I love the Stickles for the extra sparkle and shine, especially on her wings.

Here is the picture of the inside:

Well now that I got that out of the way, I'm working on a couple of cards and gift boxes in my spare time.  Seems that since being diagnosed with breast cancer my life has been more than complicated with lots of doctor appointments, surgery, and now trying to decide if I want to do the chemo pill or not.  This next week I have 3 doctor appointments and they are all in Kansas City, so will be running up and down the highway again.

I miss all of you and have been trying to keep up on Facebook with those of you that are on.  I have managed to get around to visit some of you that aren't on FB and will continue to stop by as time permits.  I'm so anxious to get back to creating again.

Camilla and Maja Vintage Autumn Basics and Some News

Here is the new gorgeous Vintage Autumn Basics Collection from Maja Designs being given away by the amazing Camilla at Cards by Camilla.  You have until September 30th to enter.  I know I can't hardly wait for this collection to be available to purchase.

I know it's been forever since I've designed and posted a card but I've had so much going on in my personal life everything else has taken a back seat.  I keep up with most of you, and those of you that are on FB, even if I don't leave a comment or take the time to say "Hi".

To my wonderful teamies from Christmas Cards All Year Round and Elphine House Australia, I apologize for not sharing all of the information when I stepped down.  In the last six weeks my husbands Alzheimer's has progressed, my youngest son (48) had a heart attack while working in Georgia, and I've been diagnosed with breast cancer. Will be having a mastectomy next week or the week after.  My oldest son who has been living in Texas for the last several years is coming home tomorrow, will stay until I get back on my feet, and I'm hoping it's really soon.  He can work from home, which is wonderful!

I've been coloring some and found the My-Besties big eye images are so much fun to color that I can't hardly wait to be making some cards with them.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Sending you all my love, hugs, and prayers.

This is one of the sweetest images,"Trimming The Tree", available at Elphine House Australia that is designed by Elisabeth Bell.  It has been such a privilege and a dream come true for me to be a designer for these awesome stamps.  I so appreciate the opportunity to have been on such an awesome team with so many fantastic designers.  It is with a lot of sadness to tell you that I have stepped down from the team due to my husband's illness (Alzheimer's) and my inability to stay focused long enough to design on a regular basis.

I didn't have time to get a card made but I did get this adorable image colored with Copics and wanted to be sure to share it with you.  You can get this cutie HERE along with several other adorable images by Elisabeth Bell.

The challenge this week at Elphine House Australia is Christmas in July.  Dig out one of those gorgeous Elisabeth Bell Christmas stamps and play along.  You have two (2) weeks to join in and have the opportunity to win some awesome stamps.  Be sure you hop on over to the team blog to see all the gorgeous Christmas cards and inspiration created for YOU by the design team.  They truly are fantastic designers!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Lots of New Goodies

This card has been made for the challenge at Elphine House Australia "Add Some Metal", using this dig image created by the amazing Elisabeth Bell.  After I took my oldest son and only granddaughter to the airport I spent the rest of the day working on this card.  I used the dark card stock for the background because I wanted you to be able to see all the details.  Here is another picture without the dark background.
Yesterday I received my order of the new butterfly dies by JOY Crafts from Ecstasy Crafts and the gorgeous new Maja Design Papers Sopfiero from LLC.  Distressed the edges with TH Milled Lavender DI and colored the image with Copics.  The flowers are a combination of WOC, Magnolia, and LLC.  The metal corner is from WOC and the stick pin creation is my first,  The doily's were sent to me by my friend Judy from the UK and Fran-tiged with Shabby White Embossing Enamel also from LLC.

Bingo at Elphine House Australia

We have such a fun challenge for you at Elphine House Australia this fortnight.  Let's play "Bingo"!  Use any THREE in a row.  I used Die Cuts, Flowers and Ribbon.

My internet is finally fixed and I sure hope it stays this way.  Not only has it been challenging to comment and visit but I've spent most of the last 3 days on the couch struggling to breath with all this humidity and feeling my heart going 100 mph.....  Oh if only I had listened several years ago and quit smoking sooner.  I know, I did it to myself, it was never going to happen to me!!! If there is anything I can ever do to help just one person quit smoking, for sure, I'm here to help.  Don't be another one of those people who says or thinks, "that won't happen to me", because one day it will.

Think I must be going though Christmas card withdrawal as I haven't made any for over a month. Here it is almost July and I'm way behind on getting my cards made.  I hope you like this cause I sure had a lot of fun making it.

Internet Connection Acting Up

Hi all you lovely people out there in blog land.  My internet has been down so much lately that we have a technician coming on Monday.  No clue what is going on, got a new modem just this morning but my ISP tech says it will come and go until they find out what's going on with the system.  Of course, technicians don't work on the weekends here........  Just a heads up.  I'm going to try and let my teamies know what's going on in case I can't get on line again until Monday.  Hope it stays up!!!!  Cross your fingers and toes for me....LOL

With Sympathy-Just Because

A very dear friend of mine lost her mother-in-law this week (age 94).  They lived just across the road from her for many years and she was a big part of their lives. We had hoped to make it to the visitation this afternoon out of town, but it didn't happen.  The funeral is tomorrow at 1 and since Conley has  another dental appointment at 12:30, we won't make that either.  They are in our thoughts and prayers and I wanted to share this card I have made for them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and close friends during this period of mourning.

Lace and Pearls

OMGosh, can you believe it's already time for another fun and exciting challenge at Elphine House Australia.  We want to see lace and pearls on your creation and you have until April the 29th to submit your entry. For more details on the challenge please stop by the EHA blog.

I've used this adorable "Fairy Faye Make A Wish" stamp by the very talented Elisabeth Bell and you can get her HERE.  Copics used:  Hair E59, 44, 15, 31, 50; Dress E40, 41, 42, 43, 44.  Star Dust Stickles for her wings and accents.  Flowers RV 11, 02, 10, 000.  Here is a closeup of the colored image and I hope you can see the  pearls for the flower centers.
Now a short funny story about how you can be thinking and not thinking at the same time.  I had planned to make a Criss-cross card but when I glued the DP on I also glued the cuts together so now it's a pocket card without the sentiment added.  Not sure what occasion I'm going to use it for but I think it's pretty and I love the DP which is by Kaiser Crafts 6x6 pad Chanteuse Collection.  The small lace is from Live and Love Crafts in Europe. I've used Liquid Pearls for the centers of the MS Eyelet Lace Around The Page punch and distressed the edges with TH Victorian Velvet.  Pearls are from my stash.

Challenges I'm Entering:
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Pastels & something stamped
In The Pink - More pink than any other color

I'm on a coloring frenzy today so back to my lessons on You Tube with another image to color.  Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  Be sure you stop by the challenge blog to see all the amazing designs by my wonderful design team sisters.  Have a fantastic weekend!

Oh Christmas Tree

OOPS!  I'm a little late getting this posted. Sorry!

Our challenge this month at Christmas Cards All Year Round is all about trees.  In other words, we want to see a tree included on your card either in your paper, a shape, a die, or whatever you chose as long as as we can see a Christmas tree somewhere.

I chose to keep my card really simple this month and cut a tree out on my Cricut.  Then I found this "Oh Christmas Tree" paper in my stash and thought what an easy peasy card this would make.  Added the stamped and die cut cardinals from HFC and the pine branches from Cherry Lynn and behold, my CAS card with no coloring, no bling, and no glitz.  Oh, so not like me......feeling naked here....LOL

Challenge:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas - Christmas Carol or Song

The prize for this challenge is two (2) cling mount stamps from Platypus Creek Stamps:

My wonderful teamies have some awesome cards to share with you so I hope you'll hop on over to Christmas Cards All Year Round and see the innovative and lovely creations they have made to share with you.  They really are a fantastic group!

Have a wonderful week and I'll see you again tomorrow evening with a new post.

CCAYR Mid-Month Inspiration

Our challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round is sparkle and bling.  It can be Stickles, gems, glitter, pearls, or any thing you feel will meet the challenge rules.  If you haven't been to the challenge blog yet this month be sure you stop by to see all the wonderful cards of inspiration by the DT.  They really have some awesome cards to share with you.

Kept my mid-month card simple and easy by using a LOTV Topper matted with Cranberry CM cardstock, the same I used for the base.  The DP is from my stash as are the gems.  The poinsettia was die cut using a Spellbinders poinsettia die, then added glue and red glitter to the embossed veins in the leaves.  Can't get much easier than this.  I love the toppers for making quick cards and so many companies are now offering them for crafters.  You still have 15 days left to enter this months challenge and we'd love to see your creation.

That's it from me tonight folks.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Spring Peek & Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday and Hump Day everyone!
The kids have been here for a week taking us back and forth to KC to see our doctors.  It really is a big help as I get so tired of driving.  Conley won't drive anymore because of the dementia and says he is not renewing his driver's license so that just leaves me behind the wheel.  Now that's really scary...LOL

Oh my gosh, I can't believe Easter is only 3 Sunday's away but I'm ahead this year, have most of my cards done, the candy filled eggs ready to put in the baskets, and a new book for Lilly.  They grow up way to fast but it's so much fun watching and yet kinda sad at the same time.

Been a little neglectful about playing in challenges lately but I loved this sketch at Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge blog and the new EB stamps I got from Whimsy's a few weeks ago.  Each stamp has an adorable bunny on it that is perfect for Easter or any other special occasion. Well, that's enough chatter from me tonight so on with the details.

A peek at the inside.
Close up of the image.  I just love her!

Bring On The Bling at CCAYR

Can you believe it's March 1?
OMG, this year is going way too fast for me.

Our challenge this month at Christmas Cards All Year Round is to make a card with lots of sparkle and bling.  This can be glitter, pearls, Stickles, gems or anything else that sparkles.  It can't get much better than this fun challenge and I so hope you will join us this month.  You definitely want to see all the gorgeous and glitzy Christmas cards by the design team so hop on over to the BLOG and be sure you leave them love for all their hard work.  They really have some spectacular cards to share with you.

The DP is by Authentique and it's the first time I've used any of the 6 x 6 package.  I really love how they work together to give the card more dimension and color. The matting and card base is Cranberry by CM.  This adorable image is from LOTV and is a topper that I got from Hobby House.  Added Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes and Christmas Red to the beautiful Poinsettia made from Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn dies.  I thought the teeny heart brad from my stash just gave it that little something extra special for those snuggled up bunnies under the tree.

Our Prize this month  is sponsored by Platypus Creek Stamping & Craft
