Layers and Die Cuts

Can you believe it's already the middle of May?  I'm trying to figure out where the first 4 months of the year have gone.  Beginning to think I'm in some kind of a time warp where time fleeting passes by and I have no clue what happened or where it went...

The wonderful challenge at Elphine House Australia this fortnight is Layers and Die Cuts.  The only other stipulation is that you MUST use an Elisabeth Bell image from one of the on-line stores or a digi from the Digi Store to quality for the prize.  Hope you will join us for this fun challenge.  Be sure to head on over to the EHA Challenge Blog for all the details and to see the gorgeous cards and designs by the team.

The inspiration for this card came from Alyce Keegan of Kit and Clowder, and with her permission, I used the sketch from her blog.  I've been working with her tutorials for coloring Copics, love her style, and the depth of her coloring.  As you can see, I need a lot more practice to even get close to what she teaches.  She has some wonderful tutorials on You Tube if you are interested.  Thank you Alyce!

Gingerbread Love

May Day has arrived and what a beautiful day it is going to be!  Our challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round is a recipe of 3 buttons, gingerbread men/women, and ribbon..  I've had this image colored for a year or two and was going to touch it up but afraid I'd mess it up......LOL  I THINK I got this stamp from Bell's'N Whistles but am not sure since I don't really keep track of where I got them, just the artist.

Oops, my buttons are not showing up under the snowflakes but you should be able to see them in this photo.  See those little green buttons and the other dimensions along with a sneak peek at the inside.

With Sympathy-Just Because

A very dear friend of mine lost her mother-in-law this week (age 94).  They lived just across the road from her for many years and she was a big part of their lives. We had hoped to make it to the visitation this afternoon out of town, but it didn't happen.  The funeral is tomorrow at 1 and since Conley has  another dental appointment at 12:30, we won't make that either.  They are in our thoughts and prayers and I wanted to share this card I have made for them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and close friends during this period of mourning.

Lace and Pearls

OMGosh, can you believe it's already time for another fun and exciting challenge at Elphine House Australia.  We want to see lace and pearls on your creation and you have until April the 29th to submit your entry. For more details on the challenge please stop by the EHA blog.

I've used this adorable "Fairy Faye Make A Wish" stamp by the very talented Elisabeth Bell and you can get her HERE.  Copics used:  Hair E59, 44, 15, 31, 50; Dress E40, 41, 42, 43, 44.  Star Dust Stickles for her wings and accents.  Flowers RV 11, 02, 10, 000.  Here is a closeup of the colored image and I hope you can see the  pearls for the flower centers.
Now a short funny story about how you can be thinking and not thinking at the same time.  I had planned to make a Criss-cross card but when I glued the DP on I also glued the cuts together so now it's a pocket card without the sentiment added.  Not sure what occasion I'm going to use it for but I think it's pretty and I love the DP which is by Kaiser Crafts 6x6 pad Chanteuse Collection.  The small lace is from Live and Love Crafts in Europe. I've used Liquid Pearls for the centers of the MS Eyelet Lace Around The Page punch and distressed the edges with TH Victorian Velvet.  Pearls are from my stash.

Challenges I'm Entering:
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Pastels & something stamped
In The Pink - More pink than any other color

I'm on a coloring frenzy today so back to my lessons on You Tube with another image to color.  Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  Be sure you stop by the challenge blog to see all the amazing designs by my wonderful design team sisters.  Have a fantastic weekend!

Oh Christmas Tree

OOPS!  I'm a little late getting this posted. Sorry!

Our challenge this month at Christmas Cards All Year Round is all about trees.  In other words, we want to see a tree included on your card either in your paper, a shape, a die, or whatever you chose as long as as we can see a Christmas tree somewhere.

I chose to keep my card really simple this month and cut a tree out on my Cricut.  Then I found this "Oh Christmas Tree" paper in my stash and thought what an easy peasy card this would make.  Added the stamped and die cut cardinals from HFC and the pine branches from Cherry Lynn and behold, my CAS card with no coloring, no bling, and no glitz.  Oh, so not like me......feeling naked here....LOL

Challenge:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas - Christmas Carol or Song

The prize for this challenge is two (2) cling mount stamps from Platypus Creek Stamps:

My wonderful teamies have some awesome cards to share with you so I hope you'll hop on over to Christmas Cards All Year Round and see the innovative and lovely creations they have made to share with you.  They really are a fantastic group!

Have a wonderful week and I'll see you again tomorrow evening with a new post.

CCAYR Mid-Month Inspiration

Our challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round is sparkle and bling.  It can be Stickles, gems, glitter, pearls, or any thing you feel will meet the challenge rules.  If you haven't been to the challenge blog yet this month be sure you stop by to see all the wonderful cards of inspiration by the DT.  They really have some awesome cards to share with you.

Kept my mid-month card simple and easy by using a LOTV Topper matted with Cranberry CM cardstock, the same I used for the base.  The DP is from my stash as are the gems.  The poinsettia was die cut using a Spellbinders poinsettia die, then added glue and red glitter to the embossed veins in the leaves.  Can't get much easier than this.  I love the toppers for making quick cards and so many companies are now offering them for crafters.  You still have 15 days left to enter this months challenge and we'd love to see your creation.

That's it from me tonight folks.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
