Chaining Daisey's

Vickie just sent this to me yesterday and it's another image I have fallen in love with. I remember my grandmother stringing daisey's with me many years ago and this brought back such fond memories that I just had to share with you all.  I hope you like her as much as I do and that it brings back fond memories for you or gives you an incentive to take the time to teach your children or grandchildren how to string daiseys on a warm summer afternoon.
Sharing quiet time and enjoying God's beauty are "forever" memories.

This image is available from Vickie at Nana Vic's blog. I am so honored that she shares her digi's with me to bring them to life and I hope in some small way that I accomplish that for her.

DP - Bo Bunny & SU
MS Branch Punch and Paper Shapers Scroll Punch
Mulberry Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Copics: RV000, 00, 02, 10, 0000 - N2, 1, 0 - YG03, 21 - E02,00,000 & R20 - R83, 81, 0000

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have the time to leave me a much appreciated comment. I think I finally made it around to visit most of you this past weekend but if I missed you please let me know and I'll hop on over tomorrow.  I'll be back with my For Fun Challenge post on Wednesday.

The challenge this week at For Fun is:  Anything Plus- a paper clip or safety pin - can be a funky shape clip or a colored or regular safety pin - no stick pins please.

I chose to use 3 large white paper clips to create a fence with flowers. Not sure if you can tell those are paper clips or not but I can promise you they are.. Since I'm not motived by diaper pens anymore this was the only thing I could come up with and I think it turned out okay. What do you think?

DP is Basic Grey, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Flower Soft was used for the grass around the fence and for her bouquet.  MS Lattic punch was used behind the  fence to give it a little added zip. The image is Susan by Elizabeth Bell and from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, she is colored with Copics.  I added stickles in Cinnamon and Red to give her top and slacks a little bling.  Just got to get something shiny on those cards.........lol

Hope you all are enjoying your summer and your weather is better than here. It's sweltering hot and humid and it's rained everyday or night for I don't know how long.  We've been plagued by power outages off and on so not much crafting or visiting has been going on because I don't blog or even have the computer on during storms..... Real pansie I am.......lol

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I hope you will be able to play along with us this week at For Fun cause we'd sure like to see your wonderful creations. I'll be by to visit soon and please accept my apology for not getting by sooner.

Nana Vick Celebrates Independence Day USA Style

This is my 3rd post for the day so please scroll down to see the others. Can you imagine me doing 3 posts in ONE DAY??? This is my weekly goal!   I'm amazed myself..........lol

Now this is one hep grandma! Can you image what our grandkids would think if we even thought about doing something like this........lol  Needless to say, I have fallen in love with Nana Vic's images, they are a new digi concept, so much fun to color, and so refreshing. I am so honored to be a part of Vickie's new venture and so excited for her. When you get the chance please hop on over to visit her at Nana Vic's or at Crafter's Digital Arts Center, created June 2, 2010, where she already has 84 members in her group. If you like digi's, freebies, tutorials, and so much more, you might want to consider becoming a member of the Digital Arts Center (it's free!). They really have a lot to offer and the site is growing leaps and bounds.

Hope you like this card as I'm not a big fan of stickers but it was the only embellies I had on hand to celebrate Independence Day in the USA.  If any of you know somewhere to get some really unique embellies for this special holiday, please let me know.  I'll also be posting a card for the Australia holiday soon using this digi image and their flag colors.

DP is CM Cranberry and Navy - Stickers are from my stash of 2 years ago and I have no idea where I got them - Spellbinders Die
Image is from Nana Vic and colored with the following copics: R35, 46, 59 - B21, 24, 28 - Y17, 38
E11, 00, 000, R20 - E59, 57, 55, 53 - Black 110 - C00, 0, 3, 1, 5, 7 - Red and Black MultiLiners
Spica Sky blue and Clear along with Xmas Red and Stardust Stickles.

I hope you like what you've seen today because I have sure enjoyed crafting again. Next week may be a little slim because I'm having company (nope, still no functional kitchen until 6/22) and have some major yard work that needs to get done if it every stops raining every day. Unless of course I schedule some posts,
good idea?

Thank you so very nuch for stopping by to visit. I appreciate your comments more than you can imagine and look forward to reading each and everyone of them, so if you have the time, please leave me a little note and I'll hop on over to your blog to see what's new.
Have a fantastic week!!!

Roses & Hearts

Happy Wednesday to everyone and I'm so glad you stopped by. My first try at Chalk Popping, in fact, I had not even heard of this technique until I joined the For Fun Challenges Design Team. I wanted the chalk popping to be the focus of my card so I stamped and masked the rose stamp by Melanie Muenchinger at Gina K. Designs. This was one of the first stamps sets I purchased (A Year of Flowers) when I started making cards. Of course, by the time I added the lace it was too big for a normal 6x6 card so thought an easel card would be more appropriate.
Everything used on this card is from my stash - DP is Basic Grey - Flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts
Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles, MS punch and CM Hearts punchs were used.

The challenge this week at For Fun Challenges is Chalk Popping and this technique can be found at this You Tube site.  After a few tries I decided it was better for me to work the chalk from the inside of the stamped image than the outside because it turned out neater for me.  I also used a Stampabilities Embossing Ink pad in place of the Versa Mark Ink and a chalk eraser to highlight portions of the roses.

If you haven't tried this technique it's really fun and easy or if you are seasoned at this technique, either way, we'd love to see your creation. I hope you will join us at For Fun Challenges this week. I can promise you that all of the Design Team will be by to visit your blog to see your wonderful project for this challenge.

Hope you have the time to leave me a comment and if you do, I'll be right over to visit to see what's new.

Tadpole Hunting? Remember when?

Remember the days of hunting tadpoles with your kids or grandkids? I sure do and still have an abundance of tadpoles each year in our water garden. The process of evolution from tadpole to frog is just amazing and kids sure enjoy watching the process in an aquarium. I think Nana Vic has captured tadpole hunting in a really fun way and reminds me of when my grandsons were young. This is a new image from Vickie and I hope it reminds you of great times with the kids.

I'm entering this card in Delightful Sketches and hope you find time to play along. Here is the sketch for this week. Since I don't use sentiments on my cards until I'm ready to mail them I've added scrolls cut with a Paper Shapers punch using coordinating papers to match the card.

DP is Basic Grey Origins Paper Pad and for someone that doesn't chose yellow very often I've fallen in love with the colors in this paper, especially for this image which is natural and earthy.
Image was colored with Copics, flowers are from Prima and leaves from MS branch punch.
Yellow Stickles were added to the flowers for extra bling and I added polka dots to her apron.

Thank you so very much for stopping by and I hope you will leave me a comment so I can hop on over to see what's new on your blog. I try to keep up with everyone on my blog list but those that leave comments are always my first priority. I do value your comments and read each and every one of them.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I've joined a new NING site where there are lots of FREE digi's, challenges, forums, and just a fun place to visit. I don't think you even need an invite but if you do and you are interested, please let me know and I'll make sure you are invited. Here is the new site: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/
Again, thanks for your visit. "Hugs" Granny (Carol)

Happy Birthday to the Queen of the Team

A very Happy Birthday to Helen, our DT Leader and owner of For Fun Challenges! This Queen of Hearts image just fits her to a T for her loving, caring, and kind ways. Thanks Helen for all you do for the DT and for sharing a special place in our hearts.

This week's challenge is to make a birthday card and one of you lucky people just may win something.

I found this image at Spesch Digi Stamps while surfing for new digi stamps.  Since I love to play cards just had to have her to make favors for one of our get-to-gethers and then decided she would  be cute for Helen's BD card.  I'm definitely heading back there to shop some more. You can find some really cute digi stamps there next time you get in the mood to shop!

The paper is from my stash and the letters were cut on the Cricut using George & Basic. The hearts were punched with a CM heart punch and the flowers are ribbon roses from my stash. I love the combination of red and black because to me they are bold and yet feminine.
Copics: R39, 37, 35 - Black 110 - E00, 000, 0000, R20 - E49, 59, 25, 53
03 Red Multiliner
Gold Stickles for the globe on the wand, Black and Red
UltraFine Glitter from Barbara Trombley.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I hope you will play along with us at
 For Fun Challenges this week.
I'm also entering this at Spesch Designer Stamps

I hope you have the time to leave me a comment so that I'll be sure not to miss hopping on over and seeing what's new on your blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by as I do read and value all of your comments.

Nana Vic Takes Time to Enjoy One of Nature's Creatures

Amazing as we get older we don't swat at the bees anymore and feel we are being invaded, but take time to enjoy all the little things (even the bees) created on earth.  After all, who doesn't need a break from cleaning and any excuse nowadays I'm all for......lol

This is the latest of Nana Vic's digi images.  Isn't she just adorable! Of course, it only took me almost all day to get her colored and the embellishes done (which aren't showing up) but I loved spending the day with her.  Used way too many copics to write them all down or photo and for that I do apologize.  DP is KaiserKraft, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and used an MS punch for leaves, pearls from stash. I used Shimmerz for the water and Stickles for the water beads and drops. I had to use my scanner for this one because my camera wasn't working and I apologize for the poor quality of the picture.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit and I hope to see you again real soon. If you get a chance to leave me a comment it will be more than appreciated as it gives me that added incentive to take the time to hop on over and see what's new on your blog.  OH, don't forget to stop by Nana Vic's and wish her well on her new digi shop venture.

New Digi Site in Blogland

Super, Super news!!!! New digi's now available by Vickie over at Nana Vic's. Her focus is going to be on us senior citizens that may have a little age but the mind and spirit is still super young....lol  Can you imagine  how much fun this would be to share with your grandchildren?  For me now it's great grandchildren but wouldn't they be amazed and have fun with us....  Vickie asked me if I would make a card for her first digi image and I was so proud that she would consider me.  What an honor and pleasure it was to work with Nana Vic's Cowgirl,  She has another stamp just out, Nana Vic Spring Cleaning that I haven't gotten completed yet but hope to post by tomorrow.

The sketch is from ABC Design Blog and their challenge lasts until June 6 if you want to hop over and play.  The paper I've used is Creative Imaginations that I got at Michael's and I used one of MS punches that I got the same time I got the paper. For some reason, they all just seemed to go together for me. The flowers and brads are from my stash and the image was colored with Copics and Spica pens for that extra bling I just can't do without.........lol

Sure hope you will hop on over to Nana Vic's for these 2 great images and tell her "HI" from Granny. Be sure to give her some love and wish her well on this new venture. She's worked hard and done a lot of research to get her digi blog up and running. I'm sure we are going to see lots more great images from her.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon. Please be sure to leave me a comment so I can pop on over and visit. I'm finally at a place I can start playing again and I feel soooooo much better being able to craft again.  I've missed you all and can't wait to see what you've been up to.

Love Ya Forever and Ever

Oops! this posted a day early and I apologize but don't know how to reschedule it now. Please be sure to check out the For Fun Challenges Blog and DT designs after 12:01 am June 2nd. I'm also submitting this for the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog, layers.

Our challenge this week is to make a Father's Day card, honor a man, or let a man know you love him. Well, my hubby is my soul mate and the love of my life. I could have picked out something mushy for him but our life is fun and we are always teasing each other so I felt this image from Sassy Cheryl's , Double Kissed, just fit us to a tee. Of course, we are much older than these 2 but we still think this young and he still gets me flowers and gifts....

The DP is KaiserKraft Utopia Pad which I just got from Susana's Custom Art & Design . The leaves are a MS punch and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and can't wait to get my new order from them.  The sentiment is computer generated and something I say when he likes to rile me up by teasing so I thought it just fit with the image. Copics used are: BG 18, 13, 15, 0000 - V95, 93, 91, 01 - BG01, 000, 0000 - E57, 55 & Y13 - W2, 1, 0, 00 - Gold and Lilac Spica Pens -  and Aqua & Stardust Stickles. The 2 hearts enterlocked are from Michael's and left over from my grandson's wedding.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope to see you again real soon. Hope you will hop on over to For Fun Challenges and play along with us this week. We would love to see your wonderful creations and this one is easy peasy.  If  you have time, please leave me a comment so I can come visit. Remodeling projects almost complete and house almost back in order and I can't wait to get outta this mess........lol

Oh, I just have to let you know that I have some really exciting news coming in my next post that I can't wait to share with you, so be sure and stay tuned.  See ya real soon!!! Have a wonderful day!
