Winter in the Country

Blue is one of my favorite colors for winter cards so I used blue cardstock for the base of this cool winter scene.
Got to play with my Copics for a change and am really pleased with how this turned out.  Was so much fun coloring again!
The image is from Heartfelt Creations Snowy Pine Collection and cut out with the Snowy Pine Cabin Scene Die.
Other die used was the Ornate Oval Die.
Copics:  YG63, YG67,  E53,  E55, E23, E25, E27, R35. R39, B21, B23, C0, C2, C4, C6, C8, C10, 0
The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Candlelight Collection, stamped and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  Love the blue and silver combination.

My First Christmas Card of 2020

I'm so excited, I created my first Christmas card of 2020 and am entering it into some
fun challenges this week.  Hope you will play along with me.
The sketch #564 was used as the base from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The card is 6 x 6 square.
Then I made the pretty poinsettia flower using Heartfelt Creations Large Sparkling Poinsettia stamp and die set that had been stamped with Stampabilities Embossing Ink, embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, and added the gold Rose Hip Large Stamen.
The papers are from Heartfelt's new Snowy Pine Collection as is the sentiment.

Challenges I am entering are:
A Place to Start - Flowers, floral papers, etc.
Winter Wonderland - Hip to be square
Tuesday Morning Sketches -  Sketch #564
The Holly an Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes
ABC Christmas Challenge - N & O are for?
Double Trouble Paper Crafting - Christmas in July / Heart to Heart - Your favorite crafting tool

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Football Season is Coming

In looking around for challenges I came across the Always Fun Challenges blog and they have a challenge going on right now, "Anything but a card".   Today I just finished my Diamond Dotz Chief's helmet project (getting ready for Chief's football) and thought I'd share it with you.  This is for my son-in-law's birthday in August.  He's never on the computer so I'm safe sharing.

Kreative Kreations has all football team helmets if you think you'd like to make one of your favorite team.  It's one of those hobbies where your mind is blank while you are adhering the dots.  I've needed those days where a blank mind was a good thing,,,,,,lol

Enjoy and I'll see you again soon.

Has it really been 3 years since I've posted anything?  My life has changed so very much in the last 3 1//2 years.  My son and his significant other now live with me, at my request.  My husband has not been well and is suffering from a brain injury he received in Vietnam in the 60's.  He was blown up in a tank, more than once, and has a brain injury that did not show up until just the last 10 years.  That brain injury has caused dementia and he is no longer able to care for himself, nor am I able to care for him, as he needs around the clock care with total assistance.  Now you know why I haven't been around much.  I've spent much of my time going back and forth between the VA home and home. With Covid-19 so prevalent I can no longer go for outside visits and we are back to visiting between windows and doors and not very often.

I'm really wanting to get back into card making and crafting again.  I miss all my crafting friends and creating fun projects.  Maybe I'll even try out for a design team again just to keep me motivated.  I've got to check out what blogs are still active since I've been gone so long and what design blogs are having challenges.

I hope you'll bear with me as I  strive to get back into your world.

With much love & hugs,
Granny Carol

Kit & Clowder July Class

Oh gee, I don't know if anyone is still following me because I've been MIA and not visiting anyone or posting anything.  So much has changed in my life this past year and especially since January.  I won't go into details BUT I'm hoping now to be posting and playing some in challenges.

I've been taking coloring lessons at Kit and Clowder since Alyce started teaching.  Although I haven't finished any classes for awhile now I did just finish this months class.  Quite rusty but fairly pleased with how it turned out.  Will be making this into a card soon.

The image is by Moonflower, titled "Lilly The Dancing Princess" and you can get her HERE.  I think she is gorgeous!

If you have the time to drop me a note I'd be more than appreciable and will drop by to visit to see what's been happening with you.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Anything Goes at Christmas Cards All Year Round in July

Can you believe it is almost July 4th?  Where has this year gone? Each year seems to get shorter and shorter.  Won't be long and we'll be wishing for summer again.

This month I've created a card using a pre-colored image by Kris of Imagine That! Digis by Kris. I've used Red Nose Reindeer and you can get it here. Thought some of you that don't color but like to make cards could see what you can do with pre-colored images. You can be just as creative as if you colored the image yourself. So go ahead and get crafty and join us this week at CCAYR with Anything Goes as long as the theme is Christmas.

Here is the inside of the card:

I love these little reindeer's and hope you enjoy what I have shared with you today.

The trees are die cuts from Magnolia dies with SnowTex for snow affect; the DP is from a paper pad by Authentique; Spellbinder Scalloped Circle dies were used to cut the main image; the snowflakes are from a punch by Martha Stewart with Stickles added for glitz. I still love the glitz!

Hope you can join us at CCAYR this month for the July Challenge. Be sure you hop on over to the challenge blog to see all the amazing creations by my wonderful teamies.

Challenges I'm entering:
Crimbo Crackers - Anything Goes
Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnuts Christmas - Use a Sentiment

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I will be around to visit you soon.

CCAYR Design Team Announcement

Hi Everyone,

Geez, it's been so long since I've posted that I've forgotten almost everything I knew about editing and adding to my blog.

As of July 1, I will become active with the Christmas Cards All Year Round Design Team.  I've been trying to add all of the team members and their blogs for easy access for everyone, but for some reason the gadget isn't going where I want it to go, nor am I able to add Hazel and myself.  Will get it figured out as time goes on and before July 1.  Please bear with me while I try to get my blog updated.

If you are stopping by, please leave me a comment so I can come visit and get reacquainted with you. I've really missed blogging and so many of my dear friends.  Do keep in touch with some of you on Facebook but so many of you aren't there.

Have a beautiful day and I look forward to visiting soon.

Happy Fall

Seems impossible that my last post was January 2015.  Have not been crafting much except for taking coloring classes at Kit and Clowder, plus playing some with mixed media, and spending way too much time on Facebook.

This is one of the Mixed Media kits from a workshop I attended in Kansas City this past summer hosted by Scrapbook. The mixed media class was taught by Quick Quotes All I need to do is add the picture and it is complete.  Will be sharing the companion kit in another post later this week.

Not sure how many of you are still here but I'd love to hear what you think about this project.  I haven't been around to visit your blogs but if you are on Facebook then I've been seeing you there. Since I plan to be playing again, other than just on FB, I hope to be posting more here.

Hope this finds all of you doing well, are healthy, happy, and busy crafting for the holidays.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Love & Hugs,

Kit and Clowder Coloring Challenge

This adorable image "Green Moth Maiden" is from Ching-Chou-Kuik  and a freebie for the Palette Challenge at Kit and Clowder Facebook page.  She was so much fun and my first complete Copic colored image from taking the Skin and Hair class at Kit and Clowder.  Hope you like her!

I'll use her in a card soon but for now I'm focusing on learning new coloring skills from Kit and Clowder.  I have several classes downloaded to start and finish and I'm so excited to see such an improvement in my coloring.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon.
Love & Hugs, Carol
