"Welcome Little One"

This post is a few hours early because we have been having a lot of storms and power outages and without power for several hours at a time.

For those of you living in the USA, I hope you had a pleasant Memorial Day and were able to pay tribute to loved ones and to those in the military who so bravely defend our freedoms and our country.  We spent a quiet day planting flowers and getting some of my pots planted.  Last year I was so ill that I didn't get anything done in the yard, no flowers planted, and no pots planted, nothing......I really enjoyed the beautiful day and accomplishing something!

Our challenge at Elphine House Australia this date is, "Welcome Little One" .  You have two (2) weeks to joins us.....you MUST use an Elisabeth Bell stamp to be eligible for the prize. This adorable stamp reminds me of my grandsons and how much they enjoy their children.  You can get It's a Boy stamp HERE.

Layers and Die Cuts

Can you believe it's already the middle of May?  I'm trying to figure out where the first 4 months of the year have gone.  Beginning to think I'm in some kind of a time warp where time fleeting passes by and I have no clue what happened or where it went...

The wonderful challenge at Elphine House Australia this fortnight is Layers and Die Cuts.  The only other stipulation is that you MUST use an Elisabeth Bell image from one of the on-line stores or a digi from the Digi Store to quality for the prize.  Hope you will join us for this fun challenge.  Be sure to head on over to the EHA Challenge Blog for all the details and to see the gorgeous cards and designs by the team.

The inspiration for this card came from Alyce Keegan of Kit and Clowder, and with her permission, I used the sketch from her blog.  I've been working with her tutorials for coloring Copics, love her style, and the depth of her coloring.  As you can see, I need a lot more practice to even get close to what she teaches.  She has some wonderful tutorials on You Tube if you are interested.  Thank you Alyce!

Challenges I'm Entering:
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes
Live & Love Crafts - 50 Shades of Lilac
Sandy's Crafty Creations - Anything Goes, 3 or More Flowers
Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Fashionista Challenge - Shabby or Vintage
Recipe:
  • DP Very Vanilla, SU, card base;  Vintage Spring Basics 6x6 paper pad from Maja Designs.  Distressed the layers
  • Image colored on X-press It Copic paper using Copics - Soon to be in the EHA Store
  • Dies used were Cheery Lynn Doily Die, Fern Branches
  • MS Butterfly Punches
  • Flowers are a combination of Kort & Gort, Prima, and WOC
I'm so late getting this posted tonight and am bushed so I'll wish you all a good night, sweet dreams, and a blessed tomorrow.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
