Magical Monday New Challenge & Freebie

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
To all my wonderful followers, DT Sisters, crafting mates, and Friends

It Magical Monday at There's Magic In The Air/Paper Cupcakes with a freebie and a new challenge.  Our very talented and sweet teamie, Gloria,  brings us the challenge this week.  Gloria wants us to create a shaped or die cut card of any kind and add a little texture or embossing of any kind.  Main thing is she wants you to be creative and have fun!

My card was cut out using a pattern, since I don't have any Grand Nesties yet, and distressed with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.  DP is Basic Grey, K&Co, & Bazzill.  The image, Wildflower Bouquet, is designed by Nina of PCC as is the ticket from the Valentine Ticket Set. The bouquet was printed twice and cut out prior to being colored with Copics, pearl centers, then added with dimensional tape to the embossed Spellbinders die cut.  MS punch was used for the center add on and pearls are from stash.

You may use any image you chose but if you use a previously acquired  PCC image or the freebie you will be entered into the drawing twice for this weeks prize.  Sure hope you will be able to join us this week for this fun challenge.  Please head on over to the TMIA/PCC challenge blog to pick up your freebie and to see the fantastic designs by the DT.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I do hope you have the time to leave me a comment so I can come visit real soon to see what's new with you.  Been a little under the weather this week so haven't posted or been around to see any of you but I promise this next week will be better.

A Card For Jeanne

2 posts from me in 1 day....it's a miracle!

Thought I would share the card I made for Jeanne to  help cheer her up and will be mailing to Stacie tomorrow along with an Elizabeth Bell stamp "Willow with Lantern" for her to add with the candy, "A card for Jeanne".   You all know I'm not much good with cutesy cards but I just fell in love with this freebie I got from the CDAC Heart Hop last week. The image is from Priscilla Styles at CDAC.  I just loved the little dog holding the balloons. If you can't tell I'm a dog lover?

I wanted my card to not only be cute but to have meaning for someone experiencing a very difficult time in her life recouperating from a mastectomy and what lies ahead. So, I came up with the following sentiment on the inside.  I love color and I think it brings so much enjoyment to our lives is the reason all these colors on the card are included in the sentiment.  I know I saw something like this somewhere but I have no idea where or when. If you can't read it, please click on the picture to make it larger.
Jeanne doesn't blog or use a computer so there is no risk of her knowing about this.  If you'd like to contribute a card or something for Stacie's candy drawing for submitting a card, please scroll down to my earlier post below, "Will You Help" for the deets.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You know how much I love your comments so if you have the time to leave me one it will be much appreciated.  More importantly, if you can, send a card to sweet Stacie for her aunt and to be entered into the candy draw.

Oh my, thought I had this scheduled to post Monday morning but when I went to add other challenges, it was nowhere to be found........Guess that will teach me to make my cards early and think I've scheduled them.......lol

The challenge this week at There's Magic In The Air/Paper Cupcakes is a recipe I came up with and sure hope you will play along with us.  You may use any image to your liking but we would sure love to see what magic you work with one of our PCC images. Puddles - You're Never Too Old

Soon to be released new Puddles Digi from Nana Vic.  Wow, this really brightened up when I uploaded it....  I love these colors together and thought they made such a cute card for Nana Vic and Mr. Jones (the young at heart folks).  This is one of Vickie's newest images and brings back so many wonderful memories.  I still like to walk in the rain if it's warm and not lightening.  Of course we could never go out during a storm but once we saw the rainbow and the storm was over we were out playing in the puddles and making mud pies..

Vickie is really starting to crank out a bunch of new images so stay tuned for the updates.  I just hope I can keep up with her.  How she works full time, draws, keeps her CDAC, blog, and Facebook page all current just amazes me.  I'm retired and still don't have time to do everything........but, I'm lovin it.

Card info:
Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you will come back soon. If you have the time to leave me a comment I'll be sure to hop on over and visit you.  I so love your comments!

Will You Help?

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick request for all of my friends and acquaintances in blogland.  There is a young lady who has a precious niece named Stacie that is requesting cards for this wonderful aunt who just had a mastectomy.

Here is part of Stacie's post:
"A couple of days ago she underwent a mastectomy (complete removal of breast). Everything has been going well and she is in good spirits and trying to stay so positive. As soon as she heals she will undergo chemotherapy and we won't know if she also has to do radiation or not until her results come back from the lymph nodes they took out. Jeanne is a remarkably sweet lady....she would do anything for anyone and so would her husband! Two of the nicest people I have ever met and I'm so glad I am a part of their family.

Jeanne absolutely LOVES cards....and she also really enjoys getting postcards from different places. She hasn't traveled very much and always enjoys getting postcards from all of our travels. I thought it would be great if she could get handmade cards, items or postcards from all over the world to help lift her spirits and make her smile! That is where you all come in! :) This is going to be a surprise for her and I will hand deliver everything. I would also like to offer a bit of candy to those that participate in sending something AND for spreading the word!"

You can read all about it here on Stacie's blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have the time to create something special to send to her.
