Magical Monday Valentine

HAPPY MONDAY!
Here is my card for the challenge this week at Paper Cupcakes issued by Nina. You are to make a Valentine card for one of your friends with a sentiment and share it with us.  Of course you are free to use any image of your choice but if you use a PCC image you will be entered into the drawing twice for this weeks prize.

I've used two PCC images on my card this week and one of Nina's new sentiments. The front is a new image called Cute Valentine and I think she is sooooo very cute.  On the inside of the card I used Tons of Love as she is definitely one of my favorites.  You can pick up these digi's at the Paper Cupcakes Store.

Card Data:
  • DP solid is Bazzill and the patterened DP is from K&C
  • Images are from the Paper Cupcakes Store
  • Copics
  • Spellbinder's Scalloped Hearts Die and a new Fiskar's Heart Punch I picked up this week.
  • Tent card with recessed window (something new for me)
  • Lace w/pearls  and pearls from my stash
  • The tiny hearts are left overs from the punch
I love seeing all your wonderful creations and looking forward to you joining us at PCC for this weeks challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.  If you'll leave me a little comment I'll be over to visit and see what's new with you.

One Piece of the Puzzle

Did I excite you with the title? I hope so! If you like puzzles, fun, freebies, and lots of inspiration you won't want to miss this fun hop starting January 28 lasting thru January 30 at CDAC. There are 13 very excited artists waiting to meet you and have you join their group.  It's free and it's going to be a blast!

Be sure you check back tomorrow for another piece of the puzzle and again Thursday for the 3rd piece of one of the puzzles, then it's off to the hop on the 28th.  Once you have all of the puzzle pieces (oh darn, I can't tell you yet and it's killing me...) I've never been very good at being kept in suspense but I'm a great secret keeper......lol
Hope to see you back tomorrow!

Time Cherubs w/WordArt

Here is one of the newest digi's, Time Cherubs, by Nana Vic. I really enjoyed coloring this beautiful image but I'm really rusty on my copics. Haven't spent near as much time in the craftroom as I would like.  Vickie also has a page of WordArt designed especially for this image.

Here is the inside of the card and I've colored the roses to match the easel part of the card then shaded with pastel chalks.
And here is a close up of the front of the card. I  hope you can see some of the gold on the face of the clock.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
AliFactory Challenge - Anything Goes

Here are a list of the items used to create the card:
  • Image and WordArt from Nana Vick
  • DP, birds, heart circle, and brush are from Cool Scraps Digital
  • Matting is Bazzill
  • Flowers are from WOC highlighted with Stickles and MS Fern Punch - I almost wish I'd left the flowers off of this one as they may be just a tad too much.
Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have the time to leave me a comment I'll be over to visit you real soon.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Sketch Challenge at Paper Cupcakes

Nina at Paper Cupcakes has created this fantastic sketch for us to use this week. I altered it a bit by replacing the sentiment on the left with my much beloved WOC Roses and added the computer generated sentiment to the bear's heart.
Here is the original sketch:
Welcome back to all my DT sisters at Paper Cupcakes. I'm sure everyone is as happy to be back creating for PCC as I am and looking forward to all the exciting events in 2011.  Be sure you hop on over to see their wonderful and inspirational creations.

Card info:

Elizabeth Bell World Challenge

My last post was the card you are seeing for the Bells'n Whistles Challenge this week and also for the EB World Challenge.  In this submission I've added the gift box for the EBWC.
The challenge is ANYTHING WINTER
Maybe a gift for someone or a gift bag plus a card.
Be CREATIVE!
You really need to check this out because the DTs have some awesome inspiration to share with you.

I've been wanting to make a medallion for ages so I used the same papers I used on the card cuz I just love that sparkle and these colors.  Not an easy task due to the thickness of the Reminisce DP but I kinda like how it turned out for my first one.  I followed the tutorial from Becca Feeken at Amazing Paper Grace. She works magic with Spellbinder Dies.  Here is the link to the tutorial from January 2009. Ya think I'm a little behind in trying this? ...LOL  Next time I'm going to add more ruffles.

The box is from Michael's covered with Bazzill and Reminisce DP.  I added ribbon around the sides of the box then attached snowflakes (in keeping with the card theme).  I used Grape Ice Stickles for the brad in the center of the medallion and around the 3 edges of the top of the box.

If you want to see the details on the card, please scroll down to the previous post.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I sure hope to see you again soon. If you have the time to leave me a comment I'll be over to see what's new on  your blog ASAP.

High Hopes 100th Challenge Blog Hop

Nope, no time to get a card done and so many missed challenges but I keep trying to pop in to see how everyone is doing and leave a little sugar.  My hubby has been pretty sick so for the last 4 days and nights there has been very little sleep and I haven't been able to leave him alone long enough to get anything done. He wants me in the same room with him all the time, so I'm accommodating.  We made a mad dash to the doctor's this morning as he was delirious and I was afraid he had pneumonia. He was really out of it and I got scared. Still not sure he doesn't and if not better with the meds we go again Wednesday.  Thank God he's been asleep since about 9:30 and I've gotten some computer time.  Now if he will just stay in bed all night and sleep it will be a blessing from above.

That's it from me for the night, going to hit the sack and try and catch up on a little sleep.  Don't forget to hop on over to High Hopes for the hop, challenges, and prizes.  "Hugs" Carol

Happy Belated New Year

Popping in to wish all of my friends and bloggers in blogland a Very Happy New Year.

It's a good thing I don't make New Year resolutions cuz I'd already broken one and it's only January 3rd ....LOL  No card today as I'm really off schedule.  My son and his wife just left this evening as did my husband's son. They came in Thursday since they didn't make it for Christmas and it's been crazy around here.  We've been shopping, out to dinner and a party to ring in the new year. A big New Year's day with friends over and buffet to watch the Rose Bowl and some football. Then yesterday was the Chief's last regular season home game. Today was shopping again with our crafting coupons to Hobby Lobby and Michael's. It's our 24th wedding anniversary so we spent the day just messing around with the kids.
Tomorrow is my birthday, my God my body is getting old but I still think I'm 40......LOL The only thing I asked for was at least a partial day in my craftroom with no interruptions........like that's gonna happen!  It will probably be total chaos again around here.

My daughter-in-law was teasing me today about the man behind us in line for dinner last Friday night. She said he spoke to his wife about that old lady texting and he just couldn't understand why an old lady would be texting on a cell phone (he must have been older than me).  Actually, I was texting my daugher and hubby that their dinner was paid for and to come in through the double doors instead of going through the long waiting line. I had to laugh and told her he just needs to get with the program, you are as old as you want to be.  With this little tidbit my friends I'm calling it a night.

Will be back tomorrow evening with some challenge posts and hope to see ya then.
